On Wednesday there was an incident in the yard between 2 adults that involved a fist fight. While there are many versions of this story that have circulated throughout our community, these adults were not students or staff members of P2 20. We are thankful to the parents who intervened to instill calm and asked one of the adults to leave. Based on community feedback, and to ensure safety during dismissal, we have changed dismissal protocols for 1st thru 5th grade families. We also have had a larger presence of school safety officers at dismissal.
We are currently creating a morning enrichment program for students who either need early drop off or would like to participate in early morning programming. This will begin the week of October 25th. Please fill out this survey to express interest: https://forms.gle/gZkJEMN7Pzg9j6tv8
An additional morning and afterschool intervention program is being created to support students with more specific academic needs. Some families will receive a separate invitation to join a more rigorous academic program. All students receiving special education services and English as a New Language services will be eligible.

El miércoles hubo un incidente en el patio entre 2 adultos que involucró una pelea a golpes. Aunque hay muchas versiones de esta historia que han circulado por toda nuestra comunidad, estos adultos no eran estudiantes ni miembros del personal de P2 20. Agradecemos a los padres que intervinieron para traer calma y le pidieron a uno de los adultos que se fuera. Basado en los comentarios de la comunidad y para garantizar la seguridad durante la salida, hemos cambiado los protocolos de salida para las familias de 1º a 5º grado. También hemos tenido una mayor presencia de oficiales de seguridad escolar a la salida.
Actualmente estamos creando un programa de enriquecimiento matutino para los estudiantes que necesitan dejarlos temprano o les gustaría participar en la programación matutina.
