We are pleased to share that PS 20 Anna Silver has been selected as one of the schools to benefit from a $100,000 grant awarded to NY Sun Works by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. This grant will support our school’s hydroponic farm program, which plays an important role in teaching students about sustainability and environmental science from an early age.

With this funding, PS 20 students will have the opportunity to grow vegetables and herbs year-round while learning about climate change, urban agriculture, and sustainable practices. It’s a unique chance for our students to gain hands-on experience that prepares them to face the environmental challenges of the future. By bringing hydroponic farming into the classroom, we are not only providing fresh produce for our families but also helping to foster a deeper understanding of sustainability within our community.

This grant will allow PS 20 to continue enriching students’ learning experiences and encouraging them to become informed, engaged citizens in the fight against climate change.
