Principals Letter March 4th, 2022

March 04, 2022

Greetings,

If you have not had the chance, please fill out the learning survey for PS 20.  Incoming families and prospective teachers use this information to learn about our school.  Its outcomes directly affect our enrollment which impacts funding for all our programs.

Mayor Adams has announced that starting March 7th, the mask mandate for schools will be lifted for all K-12 students (see letter attached to email). It is important to recognize that we have always been a community with a wide range of views on COVID mandates and protocols. As a school, we must take the position of safety first while also following city and state guidance. We recognize that many of our students live with or are themselves immunocompromised. Most of our Pre K is not eligible for a vaccine at this point due to age. There will be many reasons that members of our community will continue to wear masks. We will navigate this new turn with kindness and understanding.  We will respect the choices of others. We will put safety first when making decisions that affect our students.  We ask that our community members do the same.

Upcoming Dates:

Mar. 7 -Class Parent Meeting

Mar. 8 -PTA Meeting @6pm

Mar. 25th -First In Person Family Friday (more details to come)

Mar. 29th -SLT Meeting @ 5:45

Saludos,
