Don’t forget to stop by tomorrow for our PS 20 Block Party. It will happen rain or shine. We are asking families and students to wear a mask if the event is indoors.
This week began our school’s launch of Asian & Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month (AAPI). May is also the Abrons Arts Festival on the Lower East Side. During this month, staff will teach and learn about the impact and influence of the AAPI community on PS 20 and our neighbors. We will also use the theme from the Arts Festival “Dream,” to incorporate AAPI in our Schoolwide Art Gallery which you can see at our May Family Friday event.
During May we celebrate the hard work of our teachers. At PS 20, we are ALL teachers. From Ms. Cheryl at the front door to our Dual Language team designing a new curriculum to our families who have worked so closely in supporting their kids’ education. Thank a teacher next week. A simple thank you or a quick email goes a long way!

No se olvide de venir mañana para nuestra fiesta del Barrio PS 20. Llueva o truene. Les pedimos a las familias y a los estudiantes que usen una máscara si el evento se mueve para adentro.
Esta semana comenzó el lanzamiento en nuestra escuela del Mes de la Herencia de los Asiáticos e Isleños del Pacífico Asiático (AAPI). Mayo también es el Festival de las Artes de Abrons en el Lower East Side. Durante este mes, el personal enseñará y aprenderá sobre el impacto y la influencia de la comunidad AAPI en PS 20 y nuestros vecinos. También usaremos el tema del Festival de las Artes “Soñar” para incorporar AAPI en nuestra Galería de Arte de toda la escuela que puede ver en nuestro evento de viernes de familia en mayo.
Durante mayo celebramos el arduo trabajo de nuestros maestros. En PS 20, TODOS somos maestros. Desde la Sra. Cheryl en la puerta principal hasta nuestro equipo de lenguaje dual que diseña un nuevo plan de estudios para nuestras familias que han trabajado tan de cerca para apoyar la educación de sus hijos. Agradezca a un maestro la próxima semana. ¡Un simple agradecimiento o un correo electrónico rápido es muy bonito!
