Weekly Family Update February 3rd, 2023

July 19, 2023

Black History Month has begun at PS 20. While we celebrate Black people year round, we spend February highlighting and celebrating the genius of African Americans. Next week is Black Lives Matter week. If you are interested in learning more about how we teach Black History month, read this article. Over the last few months we have seen an increase in families requesting clothes, toiletries, and food. Next week, we will begin collecting lightly used clothes, kids & adult, which can include shirts, pants, jackets, hats, gloves, new underwear or socks, and shoes (all sizes). If you have lightly used or new items at home that you would be willing to donate, there will be a donation box in the main lobby. In addition, some of our families do not have kitchens and are in need of premade meals that does not require reheating or food that does not require cooking like snacks, fruits, vegtables. Thank you in advance for supporting all our community members.
