As we enter another break, take time to relax and enjoy the warmer weather. Remind your child to continue reading throughout the break. Read to a sibling, a parent, a pet, or a stuff animal.
There have been lots of changes announced recently around school reopenings. Oftentimes, the news reports do not reflect the reality of our PS 20 community. We have been welcoming students back to the school everyday since September and have never closed the opportunity to return. We also commit to maintaining small class sizes for the remainder of this school year to ensure a safe environment for our students and staff. If you have questions about the Opt in window for in person school or new CDC guidelines around social distancing, I encourage you to speak with your classroom teachers.

Reminders
- If you are interested in having your child return to in person instruction, we have begun an informal waitlist. The waitlist is based on the COVID protocol that a certain number of students and teachers can be in a classroom at one time. Email Tina for more information, ymo2@schools.nyc.gov.
- Henry Street has started a Loss and Bereavement Group which begins the week of April 5th. This is a 10 week group specializing in helping children who have experienced the death of a loved one. Use this link to sign up.

Al entrar en otro descanso, tómese un tiempo para relajarse y disfrutar del clima más cálido. Recuérdele a su hijo/a que continúe leyendo durante el receso. Puede leerle a un hermano, a un padre, a una mascota o a un animal de peluche.
Recientemente se han anunciado muchos cambios en torno a la reapertura de escuelas. A menudo, los informes de noticias no reflejan la realidad de nuestra comunidad de PS 20. Hemos estado dando la bienvenida de regreso a los estudiantes a la escuela todos los días desde septiembre y nunca hemos cerrado la oportunidad de regresar. También nos comprometemos a mantener clases pequeñas durante el resto de este año escolar para garantizar un entorno seguro para nuestros estudiantes y personal. Si tiene preguntas sobre cómo optar para la escuela en persona o las nuevas pautas de el CDC sobre el distanciamiento social, le recomiendo que hable con los maestros de su salón de clases.

Actualizaciones:
- Si está interesado en que su hijo/a regrese a la instrucción en persona, hemos comenzado una lista de espera informal. La lista de espera se basa en el protocolo COVID de que un cierto número de estudiantes y maestros puede estar en un salón de clases al mismo tiempo. Envíe un correo electrónico a Tina para obtener más información, ymo2@schools.nyc.gov.
- Henry Street ha iniciado un Grupo de Pérdida y Luto que comienza la semana del 5 de abril. Este es un grupo de 10 semanas que se especializa en ayudar a los niños que han experimentado la muerte de un ser querido. Utilice este enlace para registrarse.
