Character Education Pilot Program

Hello PS20 families. As some of you may have heard, we are considering adding a learning system called “Character Education” to our PS20 curriculum. The program was created by the leaders at Hyde School and is being rolled out as a pilot program.

Here’s a pamphlet describing the program in more detail. Or take a look at the video below.

Our PTA President, Jason Stewart is a graduate of the Hyde School program, and so Hyde School has offered to allow us to use the program for free.

Please take a look at the materials below and give us your thoughts!

From Jason Stewart, PTA President

“As graduate of Hyde school of Bath, Maine, 1993, I can say my life has been completely changed by my experience. Growing up in the Baruch Projects, and going to the Boys Club of New York, I was offered the opportunity to try out the Hyde experience. I always wondered if I could one day send my child to the same school. I never thought in a million years that The Hyde Program could adapt its culture to our community here at PS 20. Hyde not only gave me educational tools to help me in my collegiate and masters studies, Hyde gave me life tools that helped me as man, husband, and father. I am so proud that our community may have an opportunity to adapt the Hyde culture at PS. 20. Please join me in this.”
